Czech Airlines was faced with a decision on how to re-operate its corporate system and was looking for a reliable and cost-effective solution. Building its own infrastructure would be very expensive, both in terms of investment and operation.
In order to ensure continuity of support and operation of the ERP system in connection with the change of ownership structure, it was necessary to separate the corporate ERP system, data and system resources of Czech Airlines from the parent company.
Migrating the enterprise Oracle e-Business Suite system to AlgoCloud was the most suitable option in terms of time, risk and investment.
Czech Airlines was faced with a decision on how to re-operate its corporate system and was looking for a reliable and cost-effective solution. Building its own infrastructure would be very expensive, both in terms of investment and operation. For these reasons, CSA chose the AlgoCloud environment, which provides a highly available, secure and professional backend for the systems. For the implementation itself, CSA chose Algotech because it provides a unique combination of long-standing expertise with enterprise systems while operating its own state-of-the-art data centre.
The project was divided into two parts. The aim of the first stage was to separate the CSA data from the parent company so that its structure would not be disturbed and at the same time it would be possible to operate the data in the newly prepared environment. The second stage involved the actual transfer of the corporate system Oracle e-Business Suite to the cloud.
A very interesting and unique part of the migration was the change of platform and operating system from Sun Ultra SPARC (Solaris OS) to the most common x86 platform and LINUX OS. The newly prepared system is connected to all internally operated applications in the Czech Airlines environment.

Czech Airlines is the flag carrier of the Czech Republic and has been in business since October 1923, making it one of the five oldest airlines in the world. They specialise in scheduled passenger transport. They provide connections from and/or via Prague to major destinations in Europe, Asia and North America, both with their own aircraft and in cooperation with other airline partners. Other activities of Czech Airlines include the operation of special charter flights, the lease of available aircraft capacity to other air carriers, and the transport of goods and shipments.
The company is a founding member of IATA and has been part of the international SkyTeam alliance since 2001.
Since 2005, Czech Airlines has been regularly certified according to the IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) requirements, which represent the most advanced safety standards in air transport. The company also holds an environmental management system certificate according to ISO 14001.
Due to a planned move, colleagues from Algotech in Hungary were faced with the decision of whether to build a new in-house server room and move their aging infrastructure or move to the cloud.
Managing an international company entails a number of tasks, which usually include the acquisition of appropriate information technology and the selection of relevant IT services. Moreover, everything can become significantly more complicated if the entrepreneur is pressed for time.
We provided a cloud-based solution based on Algotech's own data centre. We first moved the most performance-intensive websites from the original cloud environment. The application interface was then gradually moved to the new virtual environment.
